‘Overman’ (poem)

Overman (2019)

Today, while I was being told I wasn’t good enough.

I had an epiphany.

The beating of my heart was like a poem to me.

“I am my own man.”

I am an entity with charred lungs and yet my tongue loves to sing.

An Overman.

I am an ego infused with desire.

How dare you limit me?

I’m a joyful spirit.

Transcendant and overcoming death.

A loner who feels no social pains.

I have no friends but I have this sword.

I will continue to overcome even if you think this burden is too much to bear.
