If It Were To End Today

Of the things I would do

I know you would to

Finally finishing that novel.

Maybe even settling down.

And getting enough money to pay bills.

I desperately seek your validation.

To know I’m doing ok

But what good is it if I’m dead?

If all importance ceases to be

Why am I struggling like Sisyphus?

If I could have a joint right now?

Let’s do it while we exchange smoke filled kisses.

You do the exhale for us.

There is nothing to gain by delaying pleasure.

Let’s indulge

Take a bite of this apple

The juice bursts on your tongue and trickles from your lips.

I will lick the Nectar off you.

This sugar is for you.

And even if it ends

I took a piece of Earth with me.
