Mass Stranding

Punctured holes

To stop the explosion

It keeps exploding

And I’m here waiting for words

To settle              and                                                        release

I’m stuck here

In this time

In            this         moment

I’m stranded here

With untethered strings

In the coarse universe

Wet sand between my feet

Red lips leave a mark

The stain is always there

Ever present

Swirling off the skin

My eyes adjust to the neon signs

The purple glow

And Dopamine surrounds us,

Serotonin to choke on

For a moment or two

We can forget that we are stranded.
